“India was split in 1947 during Congress. Rahul Gandhi should go to Pakistan if they want to begin the ‘Bharat Jodo Yotra’. What are the benefits of doing this yatra within India? India is connected and united …,’, said Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam Chief Minister, took aim at Congress’ “Bharat Jodo Yatra”, which will kickstart today. He said that Congress should conduct the campaign in Pakistan and that India is connected and united.

According to the chief minister, India was split in 1947 so there is no reason for India to start the ‘Bharat Jodo Yotra’.

“India was split in 1947 during Congress. Rahul Gandhi should go to Pakistan if they want to begin ‘Bharat Jodo Yotra’. What are the benefits of doing this yatra here in India? India is connected and united. I would like Rahul Gandhi to send the Bharat Jodo Yatra program to Pakistan.

This is just a day before the Congress party launches its nationwide campaign.

“We are launching a positive political movement. We would love to hear about your problems and solve them. We want to unify our country. “Let’s unite India together,” Priyanka stated in a Facebook video.

“Political debate today is not focusing on the citizens of the country. It has taken a completely different direction. Today’s politics has become blind to the needs of people and their problems. “We want to raise the concerns and problems of the common man through this ‘yatra,” Priyanka stated.

Senior Congress leaders encouraged people to join the “yatra,” adding that they should all work together to make the country prosper.

“Further information regarding the ‘yatra’ will be available on the website www.bharatjodoyatra.in, the citizens of the country can get in-depth detail about the ‘yatra’, the timing and the various states it’s going to pass through”, she added.

Rahul Gandhi will begin the 3,570 km journey that takes him approximately 150 days, from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

According to the party’s program, Rahul Gandhi will attend a prayer session at the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial, Sriperumbudur, on the morning 7 September. This is where his father Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by a bomb blast in he was campaigning for Lok Sabha.

Gandhi will visit the memorial and then travel to Kanyakumari, where MK Stalin, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, will present the Tricolour to him. While officially launching the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Gandhi will address a rally.
